“Annual day” – a package to wrap up all that we have accomplished during the year 2019-20. A day celebrated with gratitude thanking God for accompanying us during the year. It was a day to also thank our Principal Rev. Fr. Maxim D’souza and the teachers for all the hard work and dedication in making the year a memorable one,
Dr. Umesh Puthran, Medical Director of Chinmay Hospital, Kundapura was the Chief Guest for the function. Rev. Fr. Steven OCD was the Guest of Honour along with Mr. Kiran Lobo and Charolette members of the PTA representative body. Also seen are Fr. Leo Pereira, Fr. Maxim D’souza and Fr. Merwin Fernandes.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Umesh Puthran said that we are not a grey nation (referring to old age and the grey hair) but we are so blessed to have so many children and youth in our country and our task is to prepare them for a better tomorrow with skills for life. Later referring to Aristotle, he said “Education of the brain is useless if there is no education of the Heart.” Elaborating on the early Christian missionaries and their zeal for education has indeed left a deep imprint on the lives of many. He then appreciated the education given at Don Bosco CBSE School, Trasi and the many activities it conducts during the academic year for the betterment and holistic development of the Children.
Later, the Rector, Fr. Leo Pereira expressed his words of appreciation and gratitude for all the meticulous planning done by Fr. Maxim. He then appreciated the teachers and the co-teaching staff for their dedication and hard work. He thanked the PTA body and the parents for their cooperation and for the support given at all times.
This was followed by the cultural program on the theme “Colours of India” followed with a colourful display of talents performed by the children of the school through dance and songs.
Fr. Maxim, the Principal later expressed his gratitude by making a special mention of the financial help received from parents and benefactors. He also expressed his gratitude to the benefactors of the Kindergarten playground that was inaugurated in the morning. He later thanked all the teachers, staff and students for making the Annual Thanksgiving Day a grand success.
