The Annual Sports Meet 2025 of Don Bosco School, Trasi, was inaugurated with great zeal on 3rd November 2025 in the School Playground. Students, teachers and parents gathered in large numbers to celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship, discipline and teamwork.

The program began with a solemn prayer, invoking God’s blessings for the success of the event. This was followed by a graceful welcome dance presented by the students, which set a festive tone for the day.

The dignitaries were then escorted to the dais and given a warm welcome. The school proudly hosted two eminent sportspersons as the guests for the event. The Chief Guest, Mr. Shashank Acharya, a National Level Kabaddi Player and the Guest of Honour, Mr. Chandra Naik M, Bengaluru Bulls Team Player.

The event was presided over by Fr. Maxim D’Souza, the Rector and Principal of the school, accompanied by Fr. Bryce Rodrigues, the Vice Principal, Fr. Arnold Mathias, the Administrator, Mr. Vivian Crasta, the PTA President, and Mrs. Reena Mendonca, the PTA Secretary.

A disciplined and impressive March Past by the four houses marked the official opening of the ceremony. The lighting of the sports torch, symbolising courage, determination and the Olympic spirit, added dignity to the event.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Shashank Acharya, then officially declared the Annual Sports Meet 2025 open. In his motivating speech, he encouraged students to participate in each event with dedication and highlighted how sports help build confidence and character.

The Guest of Honour, Mr. Chandra Naik M, also addressed the gathering. He appreciated the school’s commitment to promoting physical education and urged students to embrace values such as teamwork, discipline and perseverance. He also encouraged the students to balance studies with sports.

In his Presidential Address, Fr. Maxim D’Souza emphasized the importance of sports in holistic education and praised the enthusiastic participation of the students. A special mention was made of the Annual Sports Meet Inaugural Ceremony in-charge teachers, Tr. Vanitha Crasta and Tr. Sulekha Shetty, whose meticulous planning, dedication and coordination contributed greatly to the smooth execution of the event.

The entire inaugural ceremony was flawlessly compered by the student MCs, who ensured the seamless flow of the programme. The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks.

The program ended with the oath-taking, after which the sport events commenced. The field came alive with energy and excitement as students participated with enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The Annual Sports Meet 2025 was a grand celebration of unity, fitness and competitive spirit, creating lasting memories for the Don Bosco School Trasi family.
