The Inauguration Program of the Science and Craft Fest for the academic year 2025-26 was held on 9th October 2025, in the School Auditorium of Don Bosco School, Trasi. The occasion was graced by Rev. Fr. Maxim D’Souza, the Rector and Principal, Rev. Fr. Bryce Rodrigues, the Vice Principal and distinguished Judges, Dr. Suhana S, Chemistry Lecturer, Mr. Harish Kotian, Biology Lecturer, Mr. Venugopal Shetty, Art Teacher and Mrs. Sunitha D’Lima, Artisan along with teachers, students, and parents. The judges inaugurated the fest by opening the peacock feathers, symbolizing creativity and learning. The program began with a prayer song, followed by welcome speech.
Mr. Harish Kotian addressed the gathering and congratulated all students for their enthusiasm and creativity. He encouraged them to learn by doing and to explore their knowledge through innovation and design. He emphasized that education requires creativity and that science cannot be confined within classroom walls; students must learn by observing the world around them. He also advised them to develop scientific awareness in daily life, such as by reading the ingredients and product information on packets, to become more observant and informed learners.
Rev. Fr. Maxim D’Souza addressed the students and spoke about the importance of science in daily life and its contribution to the advancement of society. He explained that scientific research has no end, as new discoveries are made each day, and emphasized the need for experimental learning, which makes science more interesting and practical.
The enthusiastic participation of the students made the event memorable and successful. There were around 370 exhibits altogether, with 152 students participating in Craft Exhibition and 72 students participated in Science Exhibition. The vote of thanks was proposed to express gratitude to all the dignitaries, judges, parents, teachers and students for their valuable presence. The Science Exhibition was coordinated by Science Teachers, Tr. Meghashree and Tr. Jasmine O Carvalho. The Craft Exhibition was coordinated by the Craft Teacher, Tr. Anusha.
