A three-day Scouts and Guides Camp was successfully conducted in the school premises of Don Bosco School, Trasi, from 25th to 27th September 2025. The camp was organised and led by the Guide Captain, Tr. Sunitha D’Lima, Assistant Guide Captain, Tr. Vanitha Crasta, and Scout Master, Sir. Clement Coutinho. The camp was a great success with the participation of many scouts and guides from Classes VI- IX. The formal beginning of the camp was through the Flag Break.

The school volleyball courts were used for camping, which began with the pitching of tents. The troops learnt to set up their own tents, an essential skill of camping. They pitched their tents with high spirits and adorned them with ornaments created from natural materials like creepers, leaves and flowers. Following which they were trained in knot tying and lashings, crucial for campsite construction. Under the guidance of the Guide Captains and Scout Master, they prepared various gadgets using ropes and sticks, putting their newly learned skills into practical use.

One of the major highlights of the camp was the hike to Aloor Dam, where the Scouts and Guides experienced the thrill of trekking amidst nature. The hike exhibited endurance, teamwork, and environmental awareness.

Educational and interactive activities added depth to the camp. Chart presentations on various aspects of scouting were displayed by the troops, showcasing their understanding of scouting values, history, and practices. A quiz on scouting further tested their knowledge and brought out their competitive spirit. The kit inspection instilled discipline, promoted preparedness and encouraged pride of being a scout and guide, it also helped them understand the significance of their complete uniform.

The camp concluded with a lively grand campfire, where students performed songs, skits, and danced with their friends in the warmth of the campfire. It was a perfect ending to the three days of learning, fun, and bonding.

A solemn Investiture Ceremony was held for the newly inducted Scouts and Guides. The new members took their oath and were officially initiated into the scouting community. The winning troops of all the activities were also rewarded during the ceremony.
