Trasi, October 13 and 14, 2026: The Annual Sports Meet of Don Bosco School, Trasi, was held on 13 and 14 October 2026 with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The event was presided over by Rector and Principal, Rev. Fr. Maxim D’Souza. The Chief Guest for the inaugural ceremony was Dr. Adarsha Hebbar, General and Laparoscopic Surgeon, Adarsha Hospital, Kundapur. The occasion was graced by Vice Principal Fr. Sandesh Fernandes; Administrator Fr. Arnold Mathias; Fr. Vicky D’Souza; Mr. Vivian Crasta, President of the PTA; and Mrs. Reena Mendonca, Secretary of the PTA.

The programme began with a traditional welcome to the dignitaries, who were then escorted by the school colour party. The inaugural ceremony commenced with the hoisting of the school flag, followed by the lighting of the sports torch by the school champions. The Annual Sports Meet was officially declared open with the inauguration of the Sportiva 2026–2027 banner. This was followed by an impressive march-past by the junior and senior students representing the four houses—Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow—along with the Junior College troops, Scouts, and Guides. The march-past reflected discipline, unity, and team spirit. The Blue House and Yellow House added colour to the celebration with their wonderful dance performances, showcasing the spirit and identity of their respective houses.

In his address, the Chief Guest congratulated the students on their active participation and commendable sportsmanship. He encouraged them to maintain a healthy balance between academics and sports, highlighting the importance of both in their overall development. Principal Rev. Fr. Maxim D’Souza addressed the gathering and wished all the participants the very best for the competitions. The winners of the 800-metre and 1600-metre races were later honoured with medals and certificates in recognition of their achievements.

Valedictory Ceremony

The event concluded on 14 October with a grand valedictory programme. Mr. Sachin Nackathaya attended as the Chief Guest, welcomed alongside other management and PTA dignitaries.

Energetic cultural performances by the Red and Green houses set an enthusiastic tone for the afternoon. In his inspiring address, Mr. Nackathaya cited legendary athletes like Sachin Tendulkar, P. V. Sindhu, Neeraj Chopra, and Cristiano Ronaldo. He emphasized that dedication, determination, and dreaming big are essential keys to success. He urged students to practice regularly, prioritize their goals, and always respect their institution.

Following the address, the final house points and tournament winners were announced by Teacher Rosy D’Souza amid loud cheers. Principal Rev. Fr. Maxim D’Souza presented a memento to the Chief Guest and officially declared the meet closed. The sports flag was lowered and ceremoniously handed over to the Principal by the Head Boy and Head Girl. The event concluded successfully with a Vote of Thanks and the National Anthem.
