Deepavali Celebration

Diwali is a very important festival for Indians since it is not just a religious festival but has greater meaning that goes beyond the boundaries of religions. To make the children aware about its importance, school is the best platform as to get to know the traditions, values, religious practices and inculcate the best values.

On November 5th, our school celebrated the festival of lights. On account of this lantern making competition was held in which many students participated and made varieties of colorful lanterns. The best ones were given prizes and they were displayed in the corridors for a week. Special prayer service was conducted by the students. The class monitors lit the lamps around the rangoli. A dance was also performed. The videos showing the importance of deepavali and safety measures need to be taken while bursting crackers were showed. Our principal Fr. Maxim D’Souza speaking about deepavali explained to the students as to how this festival could be an educative one and can be symbol of harmonious living in our country. He also cautioned the children about the harmful effects of burning crackers.
