Trasi, June 4, 2026: Don Bosco CBSE School, Trasi, celebrated World Environment Day with great enthusiasm and a strong commitment to promoting environmental awareness among students. The programme was graced by the presence of Rev. Fr. Maxim D’Souza, Rector and Principal; Rev. Fr. Sandesh Fernandes, Vice Rector and Vice Principal; Rev. Fr. Arnold Matthias, Administrator; and Mr. SelvaMurugan, Beat Forester, Aloor Branch, who was the Chief Guest for the occasion.

The programme commenced with a prayer song, creating a reflective atmosphere for the celebration. Senora R. D’Souza of Class VIII warmly welcomed the gathering. The event featured inspiring speeches by students on the importance of protecting and preserving the environment. Adding vibrancy to the programme, students presented a meaningful dance and a melodious song highlighting the theme of environmental conservation.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest, Mr. Selva Murugan, emphasized the urgent need for environmental conservation. He encouraged students to reduce the use of plastic, plant more saplings in their homes and surroundings, and actively participate in protecting forests and conserving natural resources. He also motivated the students to contribute to society through service in the Forest Department and by becoming responsible stewards of nature.

In his message, Rev. Fr. Maxim D’Souza inspired the students to cultivate environmentally responsible habits and reminded them of their vital role in safeguarding the planet for future generations.

The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Siya V. of Class VII, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, teachers, and students who contributed to the success of the programme. The event was compered efficiently by Rihanna S. Lewis and Reesa P. Lobo of Class VII.

The entire programme was coordinated by Mrs. Sulekha Shetty, the teacher in charge of the Eco Club. As a mark of the occasion, the Chief Guest, the Management, and the Eco Club members planted three fruit saplings on the school campus to commemorate World Environment Day and promote the message of environmental sustainability.

The celebration concluded on a positive note, leaving students with a renewed sense of responsibility and commitment towards protecting and preserving the environment.
