Trasi, September 15, 2026: Don Bosco School, Trasi, observed World Suicide Prevention Awareness Day on 15 September 2026 in the School Auditorium at 9:30 a.m. Centred around the global theme, “Creating Hope Through Action,” the programme highlighted the critical importance of hope, compassion, emotional well-being, and supporting individuals navigating difficult moments in life.
The event commenced with a warm welcome to the gathering. Reesa P. Lobo of Class 7 served as the Master of Ceremonies, conducting the proceedings with grace and poise. Following this, Anoliya T. D’Souza of Class 6 delivered an informative and meaningful speech on the significance of the day, emphasizing the power of open expression, active listening, mutual kindness, and the courage to seek help during personal challenges.
A major highlight of the morning was a thought-provoking skit presented by the students of Class 7. The performance powerfully conveyed the message that every individual deserves to be heard, understood, and supported, effectively urging students to practice empathy and reach out to peers in distress.
The event was graced by the Rector and Principal, Rev. Fr. Maxim D’Souza, and the Vice Principal, Rev. Fr. Sandesh Fernandes. In his address to the assembly, Fr. Maxim shared a deeply inspiring message on the sanctity of life. He earnestly encouraged students to value their lives, communicate openly, and fearlessly share their problems with someone they trust rather than internalizing their struggles. He further emphasized building a nurturing, judgment-free school environment where no one feels isolated.
Marking a collective commitment, the entire gathering of faculty and students solemnly took a pledge to look out for one another and foster an atmosphere of safety and trust.
