Trasi, September 16, 2026: Don Bosco School, Trasi, organised a vibrant Science and Art Fest, “Koushal Mela,” on Wednesday, 16 September 2026, in the school auditorium. The fest aimed to provide students with an opportunity to showcase their creativity, scientific knowledge, innovative ideas, and artistic talents. The event was officially inaugurated by the guests through a unique science formula experiment before they entered the auditorium.

The formal programme commenced with a solemn prayer song, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp. The event was graced by Chief Guests Mrs. Akshata Shet (Physics Lecturer, Bhandarkar’s P.U. College, Kundapura), Mr. Manjunatha D. (Chemistry Lecturer, Government P.U. College, Byndoor), Mrs. Veena Almeida (Ex-Teacher, St. Joseph School, Kundapura), and Mrs. Sunitha D’Lima (Teacher, Don Bosco Kindergarten, Trasi). The event was hosted by the Rector and Principal, Fr. Maxim D’Souza, alongside Administrator Fr. Arnold Mathias and Guest of Honour Fr. Vicky D’Souza.

The Science Exhibition featured various experiments and innovative models prepared by students from Classes 5 to 10. More than 100 students actively participated, enthusiastically demonstrating their projects and explaining the underlying scientific principles, working mechanisms, and practical applications. Simultaneously, the Art and Craft Exhibition provided an opportunity for students from Classes 1 to 10 to display creative craft items that beautifully reflected their imagination, patience, and artistic skills.

During his address, guest speaker Mr. Manjunatha appreciated the creativity of the students. He emphasised the importance of developing problem-solving skills to face future challenges and encouraged students to dream big, drawing inspiration from Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. Another esteemed guest, Mrs. Akshata Shet, highlighted the importance of practical learning, explaining how hands-on activities develop curiosity and logical thinking. She also appreciated the teachers and parents for their constant encouragement.

In his presidential address, Principal Fr. Maxim D’Souza lauded the enthusiastic participation of the students, noting with pride that the science exhibition had crossed the 100-participant milestone. He expressed his gratitude to the parents who attended the event to support their children. Visiting parents expressed immense happiness and praised the supportive school environment that helps students build confidence.

The mega event was successfully coordinated by teachers Tr. Anusha D., Tr. Usha N. C., and Tr. Anusha Poojary, making the Koushal Mela a memorable and enriching milestone for the school.
