"India is the cradle of the human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legends and the great grandmother of tradition”.
The school celebrated the 72nd Republic Day of our Country on 26th January, 2021 with patriotic spirit. The School gathered for the flag hoisting ceremony at 9.00 am. The program began with a prayer song sung by the teachers, followed by paying respects and honour to the chief architect of the Constitution of India, and the founding father of the republic of India, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, by offering the garland to his photo by our Principal Fr. Maxim D’souza.
The National Flag was hoisted by our Rector and Administrator, Fr. Leo Pereira. After the unfurling of the flag, our Vice Principal Fr. Merwin Fernandes was invited to share a message on this auspicious day. In his message he mentioned how constitution plays an important role in giving us our rights and duties, which also gives us an opportunity to live in this country in a peaceful manner.
Fr. Maxim in his remarks highlighted the role played by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and the members of the Constituent Assembly in providing the country with a robust and solid constitution that has lasted the test of times. Reflecting on the Covid situation, he said that it teaches us that we will appreciate the good things in life, only when they are taken away from us. Hence we need to appreciate the rights and privileges given us by our Constitution and strive to live by them.
The program was brought to a close with the vote of thanks presented by Tr. Gratia Crasta.
